Itraconazole For Fungal Nail Infections

Sporanox, often misspelled as Sporenox or Sporanex, contains itraconazole - the active compound or ingredient used to fight fungal infections.

This ingredient prevents the fungus from forming a substance called ergosterol - the main component of the cell structure of the fungus. Once the outer membrane of the fungi cell is breached the contents of the fungi ooze out and cannot form into healthy fungi cells.
